Apply For The WACWISA MSc and PhD Scholarships at UDS in Ghana

West African Center for Water Irrigation and Sustainable Agriculture (WACWISA) at the University for Development Studies, Ghana.

This program is provided by the Government of Ghana and the World Bank. To support the African Students to pursue Masters (MSc/Mphil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) study program is the basic aim of this program.

BENEFITS:

  • The tuition, research and learning costs, monthly stipend, research costs, international placement/ mobility costs will be provided by the Scholarship and also cover the Official University fees for Master’s Students and PhD Students. Tuition, registration, examination, matriculation, student identity card and library will also be included in this.

ELIGIBILITY:

Eligible Countries:

  • Only citizens from African countries are eligible to apply.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects:

Masters and PhD in Irrigation and Drainage Engineering.

Criteria:

  • At the University for Development Studies the applicants must have to apply in Irrigation and Drainage Engineering for Master/Doctor of Philosophy program.
  • Candidates must have with at least a second-class upper division in Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Soil and Water Conservation and Manageme https://uds.edu.gh/wacwisa-masters-phd-scholarships/nt Horticulture, Agronomy, Hydrology and Watershed Management and Engineering, Agricultural Technology, Soil Science or related field or must have a Bachelor’s degree (honors).

They should have Minimum Qualification:

Master degree on research-based or equivalent in a research field. In Irrigation and Drainage related activities they need to have practical field training/experience for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Particularly in the West-Africa, sub-region female candidates are encouraged to apply.

Aspirants should be nationals of and resident in Africa and should be less than 35 years for Master’s program and less than 40 years for PhD.

How To Apply For WACWISA MSc and PhD Scholarships at UDS in Ghana 2019

  • At the University for Development Studies for applying into the relevant program, seekers are required to submit applications for admission.
  • The claimant can submit full complement of documentation to wacwisa@uds.edu.gh after being registered as well as submit copy director_wacwisa@uds.edu.gh with a subject line “WACWISA Masters and PhD Scholarships”.

Supporting Documents:

Aspirants will be asked to submit a certified copy of Academic Certificates and an Official/certified Academic transcript from the previous University of study, Maximum Research Proposal of three(3) page and PhD(5) page, Statement of Motivation of two(2) page, one Professional letter of Reference and two Academic letters of Reference, a copy of Identity Card(ID) or Bio-Data page of National Passport and Curriculum Vitae(CV).

Admission Requirements:

You must have a Bachelor’s degree (honors) or equivalent with at least a second-class upper division for admitted to the Master’s program and research-based Master’s degree or equivalent in the related field for PhD.

Language Requirements:

However to selected candidates, training of certificate language competency will be given by the program for ten weeks. Still, evidence of competence in English will be provided by the applicants of francophone.
