Full Biography of Cletus Ibeto

 

Cletus Ibeto is a Nigerian businessman and the CEO of The Ibeto Group.

Background

Cletus Ibeto was born on the 6th of November, 1952 in Nnewi, Anambra State. His father was not rich enough to send all the children in the family to school so he decided to put some in school and send the others to learn a trade instead. So Cletus Ibeto was sent to learn a trade instead.

He was sent to serve as an apprentice to an already established trader in Onitsha and he stayed with the trader until the civil war started in 1967. He was only 17 then but he was recruited to serve in the army.

Rise to Prominence

He however resumed business after the war and started trading spare parts. By 1995 he had already completed his own factory which is located in Nnewi, Anambra State. The Ibeto group grew to become one of the biggest auto spare parts manufacturing companies in the country.

He went on to build Ibeto Petrochemical Industries Ltd in 1996. Ibeto Petrochemical Industries Ltd is a company that deals with blending oil lubricants and also producing petroleum products for local and international markets. With a capacity of over 60,000 metric tonnes the company stands to own one of the largest storage facilities for petroleum products in Nigeria.

Accolades

Cletus Ibeto is a recipeient of the highly acclaimed national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) from the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In 2012 he was also been decorated with the honour of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).

He is married to Ifeyinwa Opara.
