RSF invites a journalist from a war zone or crisis area to take some time out from their stressful environment and come to Berlin for six months, where they can rest and work on a new journalistic project.

2. The BP 2020 Net Zero Scholarship

The scholarship is for candidates making an impact in any of these areas: Advocating for progressive climate policies; Enhancing current decarbonized energy technologies such as solar and wind; Improving access to energy; Innovating to reduce emissions in households, cities, and industry.

3. DAAD 2020-2021 Postgraduate Scholarships for Development-Related Courses – Germany

This is an opportunity to take a postgraduate degree at a state or state-recognized German university. The scholarship is applicable to foreign graduates with at least two years’ professional experience. This also applies to all disciplines.

7. Yousef Jameel Doctoral Scholarship 2020 at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin

Applications are open. Humboldt Universität annually offers two scholarships to doctoral candidates in the natural science fields of  Chemistry, Physics, Informatics/Computer Science, Mathematics, Biology/ Biomedicine, Geography, and Agricultural Science.

8. Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Security Nexus DAAD 2020 Summer School Scholarships–Germany

11. DAAD ABI Freiburg 2020 Contested Governance Summer School for Graduate Students

The 2020 summer school is for four weeks (1-27 September 2020) and involves an intensive program discussing various aspects of governance and its multiple issues. Participants will learn about actors in the governance system. The program will assist trained professionals to address diverse societal, ecological, and economic issues in developing countries.

12. Masters Scholarship by Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) 2020/2021

PTDF scholarships are very competitive and only outstanding applicants across board are selected. The award comprises health insurance payment, tuition and bench fees, provision of flight tickets, as well as allowances to meet the costs of accommodation and living expenses.

DAAD University of Hohenheim announces its AgEcon Scholarship for Developing Countries. These AgEcon Scholarships are given by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) under the initiative “Development-Related Postgraduate Courses” (EPOS).

15. University of Stuttgart Masters Scholarships in Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design (IUSD) for Students in Developing Countries 2020-2021

The University of Stuttgart, Germany, and Ain Shams University, Cairo has established and developed the IUSD (Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design) program for Masters Students from developing countries. The DAAD now offers a limited number of full scholarships for students from a wide range of countries. The scholarships are offered through the EPOS program and they cover the whole duration of the course (including travel costs to both countries).
